Western Show Shirt Update
Okay. The show is in two weeks. I am almost done with the dd's show shirt. It will be finished soon, I promise. I am going to put up an extensive tutorial on how to put it together. It is coming along nicely. The dd picked a bright neon green, black and white, splashy print. The collar and cuffs are bright green and I am adding black leather motifs on the collar and cuffs. Of course there will be bling as well! The black leather came from a yard sale skirt for $1.

Here's the Banana Bread!
Here it is!!! The recipe is an old southern favorite.
Cream together 1/4 cup of shortening and 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix 2 cups of flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. of baking powder, 1/4 tsp. of salt together. Mix 1 egg, 1 tsp of vanilla and 2/3 cup of mashed bananas. Then add the banana mixture to the creamed shortening and sugar, blend. Next, pour some of the dry mix into the wet mix, pour in some milk a little at a time while adding the dry mix (1/2 cup of milk). If desired, add nuts or chocolate chips or both! You can flour the nuts before adding them, too. Pour into a greased, floured bread pan. Bake at 350* for 1 hour. I like to make little loaves, this makes two, bake for a little less time.

Couponing...it's addictive!
Well, I'm going to try a more extreme form of couponing. I bought the baseball card inserts and I got the perfect binder at a yard sale for $1. It was brand new. It was what I was hoping to find at a yard sale and it was at the first yard sale I went to. Did I mention it was brand new, like still had the little packet of pencils and erasers in the plastic....happy dance! So back to couponing. I had the DH buy 2 papers on Sun. so if I come across some BOGO deals I can really clean up. Even the DD is getting into this. When I went shopping the other day with just my little coupon clutch, I bought $70 worth of groceries for $34! I bought mostly BOGO and I had coupons for the products! I think I'm going to like this!

Banana Bread
I am experimenting with a new (old) recipe for banana bread since I misplaced my go to recipe. This one calls for 1/4 cup of shortening instead of oil and a few other differences. Of course I had to add chocolate chips for the dd because she will turn up her pretty nose at it if there are not any chips in it!!! It is baking right now and smells yummy.....post pic later!
